Meet master amber cutters and third-generation cigar rollers in their own workshops, a rare backstage look at two of the island's signature crafts.
What to expect
You'll visit the Amber Museum district first, where a gemologist explains how Dominican amber forms and shows a private collection of insect inclusions. From there, your host takes you to a family-owned cigar workshop where rollers demonstrate traditional techniques passed down for generations, and you can roll your own leaf under their guidance. The visit ends with a tasting paired with local coffee.
Good to know
Best scheduled for morning, when workshops are in full operation; allow about 3.5 hours including transfers from the pier.
