Step into a living jungle temple complex with a private archaeologist. Walk ancient plazas once reserved for Maya elite, far from the crowds.
What to expect
Your guide meets you at the pier and drives you through jungle roads to Chacchoben, one of the least-visited major Maya sites in Mexico. You'll explore stepped pyramids still partially reclaimed by forest canopy, learn the astronomical purpose of the temples, and hear stories passed down from local Maya descendants. The tour ends with fresh tropical fruit and cold water in the shade.
Good to know
Site is about 1 hour from the pier; wear closed shoes and bring sun protection. Book at least 2-3 days ahead; return by early afternoon to allow buffer before all-aboard.
