Glide over the confluence of the Rhine and Mosel in a gondola, then explore one of Europe's largest preserved fortresses. The panoramic views of the Deutsches Eck and the twin river valleys are simply unmissable.
What to expect
The cable car departs from the banks of the Rhine in central Koblenz, gliding silently 130 metres above the water as the Deutsches Eck monument — where the Rhine and Mosel merge — unfolds beneath your feet. At the summit, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress crowns a sheer cliff with 40 acres of bastions, ramparts, and museum galleries tracing 3,500 years of history. The views from the walls are genuinely extraordinary — a 360-degree canvas of river, forest, and vineyard. On the return gondola ride, the late afternoon light on the Rhine valley is the sort of moment travellers remember for decades.
