A private guided culinary walk through the Marché Central, the Habous souks, and hidden neighbourhood kitchens — tasting pastilla, msemen, argan-drizzled dishes, and Moroccan pastries at addresses only locals know. Casablanca on a plate.
What to expect
The tour opens at Marché Central, Casablanca's beautiful 1930s covered market, where the guide introduces you to the spice merchants, fishmongers, and olive vendors who set the city's culinary tempo. You then thread through the Quartier Habous — stopping for hot harira soup, almond-stuffed briouat, and honeyed chebakia from family bakeries. A street corner serves the city's best msemen (griddle-fried flatbread) with argan oil and amlou paste. The finale is a glass of Moroccan mint tea with a pastry-maker who learned the craft from his grandfather.
Good to know
Best undertaken in the morning when the market is at its freshest. Allow 3–4 hours. Inform your guide of any dietary restrictions at booking. The Marché Central is a short taxi ride from the port (MAD 30–40). The tour ends within easy reach of the port for all-aboard compliance.
