Ascend the iconic Blue Tower for a 360° panorama of Stockholm's waterways, then step inside the Gold Hall where Nobel Prize banquets dazzle with 18 million mosaic tiles — a once-in-a-lifetime civic spectacle.
What to expect
Your expert municipal guide leads you through the ceremonial Blue Hall — an open-air courtyard of Venetian-inspired brick — where the Nobel Banquet is held each December. The Golden Hall's Byzantine mosaics depict Swedish history floor to ceiling in shimmering gold leaf. Then climb 106 metres up the tower spiral staircase to emerge onto the open terrace with panoramic views across Lake Mälaren and the Old Town rooftops. On a clear day, the archipelago islands shimmer on the horizon.
Good to know
City Hall is on Kungsholmen island — a 10-min taxi from the cruise terminal. Tower tours run only in summer (June–August, 9:00–17:15); the interior guided tour runs year-round. Buy tickets at the City Hall Shop on arrival or book ahead online. Allow 90 min in total.
