A bespoke full-day private tour with a nationally licensed guide weaving together Nagasaki's most iconic and most overlooked treasures — the One-Pillar Torii of Sanno Shrine, the Confucian Sofukuji Temple, the historic Meganebashi spectacle-stone bridge, and a ride on the beloved Nagasaki Electric Tramway through the city's living neighbourhoods.
What to expect
Board the charming Nagasaki Electric Tramway — one of Japan's oldest operating tram networks — for a local's journey through the city's historic districts. Your guide leads you to the haunting One-Pillar Torii of Sanno Shrine, one of the few structures to survive the atomic blast and now a powerful symbol of resilience. The ornate Chinese-baroque Sofukuji Temple, founded in 1629, rewards with its lacquered gates and serene courtyards. The iconic Meganebashi ('Spectacles Bridge') — Japan's oldest stone-arch bridge — reflects perfectly in the Nakashima River below. The day closes with elevated harbour views over green tea at a traditional machiya townhouse teahouse.
