One of the world's finest private automobile collections, amassed by Prince Rainier III — over 100 vehicles from an 1896 De Dion-Bouton to Grace Kelly's personal Rolls-Royce. For any automotive enthusiast, this is a pilgrimage site unlike any other.
What to expect
The collection unfolds chronologically across a purpose-built gallery just below the palace, beginning with spindly Edwardian motor-cars that look closer to bicycles than automobiles. Mid-century highlights include a 1929 Bugatti Type 35 and a 1955 Lancia D24 — the very model Fangio raced on these very streets during the Monaco Grand Prix. Grace Kelly's 1963 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud occupies its own glass case, complete with the royal family's monogram on the doors. Racing cars used in the Monaco Grand Prix itself — including a 1984 McLaren MP4/2 — are displayed alongside the grandstand photographs from the race, adding extraordinary context.
