Ascend to Norway's most dramatic fjord viewpoint — Geiranger Skywalk atop Mount Dalsnibba, 1,500 m above the fjord. The glass-edged platform delivers a jaw-dropping, god's-eye panorama of Geirangerfjord that no other vantage point on earth replicates.
What to expect
The serpentine Nibbevegen road climbs 22 dramatic hairpin bends through snowfields even in summer before depositing you at the Skywalk plateau. Step onto the glass-floored overhang and look 1,476 m straight down to the turquoise fjord below, the village of Geiranger reduced to a handful of coloured dots. On a clear day, the panorama stretches across an ocean of peaks. Lake Djupvatn shimmers beside the road on the descent — a perfect final stop.
Good to know
The viewpoint is open 10:00–16:00; aim to arrive before 11:00 to beat coach traffic. The summit can be 10–15 °C colder than the village — pack a layer. Allow 3–3.5 hrs round-trip from the pier. Book a private car or guided minivan to control the pace.
