Taiwan's most awe-inspiring Buddhist complex — 252 acres of golden pavilions, an 108-metre main Buddha, and priceless relics. A private expert-led visit lets you absorb the sacred atmosphere at your own unhurried pace.
What to expect
Arrive as the morning incense smoke rises and the resident monks begin chanting. Your guide leads you through eight pagodas, the Hall of 10,000 Buddhas, and the serene memorial garden housing a Buddha relic. The scale is genuinely cathedral-like — the main stupa alone is taller than the Statue of Liberty. End with a complimentary vegetarian lunch at the museum's renowned cafeteria, a ritual in itself.
