Plunge into one of the most biodiverse and least-visited marine environments in the South Pacific. Cumberland Bay's crystalline waters harbour Juan Fernández fur seals, giant lobsters, and endemic reef fish found nowhere else on Earth.
What to expect
A local dive master escorts you by small panga boat from San Juan Bautista to the bay's richest reef zones. Visibility regularly exceeds 20 metres in calm conditions. Fur seals barrel-roll around snorkellers while vibrant endemic reef fish dart through kelp forests. Post-dive, you surface to extraordinary views of the volcanic cliffs — a scene of total, untouched wilderness.
Good to know
Book directly and confirm your session at least 2–3 weeks ahead; equipment is provided but BYO reef-safe sunscreen. Best done in the morning when seas are calmest. Check all-aboard time and allow 30 minutes' buffer for the panga return.
