Trek through ancient banyan forest to a secluded triple waterfall cascade, swim in its cool jade pool, then return for a private traditional umu (earth-oven) feast prepared by a local family — Samoa at its most untouched and spectacular.
What to expect
Your Samoan guide, barefoot and encyclopaedic, leads the group through a 90-minute trail past vanilla vines, medicinal plants, and sacred stone platforms, sharing stories of the aitu (spirits) said to guard the falls. The cascade drops 30 metres into an emerald plunge pool where guests swim in total seclusion. On return, the family patriarch opens the umu to reveal slow-cooked suckling pig, palusami (taro leaves in coconut cream), and breadfruit — laid on woven mats. Ukulele and himene (harmonized hymn-singing) conclude the feast.
