Cage of Death: Swim with Saltwater Crocs at Crocosaurus Cove

Descend into a perspex cylinder and come face-to-face with a 5-metre saltwater crocodile — the apex predator of the Top End. Nothing on Earth replicates this heart-stopping, bucket-list plunge into croc territory.

What to expect

You'll suit up in a full wetsuit before being lowered in a transparent acrylic cylinder into the enclosure alongside a massive saltwater crocodile. The croc investigates, lunges and circles inches from your face — separated only by a few centimetres of crystal-clear perspex. Sessions last 15 minutes and include a professional underwater photo package. The facility also houses giant crocs, fish tanks, and a reptile house worth exploring before or after.

Good to know

Crocosaurus Cove is located in the Darwin CBD on Mitchell Street — a 10-minute taxi from the cruise terminal. Pre-book well in advance; sessions sell out. All-aboard is typically 5–6 pm; a morning session leaves ample time. Minimum age 15; no heart conditions.
