Descend into one of Europe's most spectacular cave systems — 4 km of stalactite cathedrals beneath Mallorca's east coast — culminating in a live classical music concert on the shores of subterranean Lake Martel, the world's largest underground lake.
What to expect
Stone pathways wind through chambers named the Black Cave, the White Cave, and the Luis Salvador Cave, each hung with formations that took millions of years to grow. The walk ends at Lake Martel, where the lights dim and musicians in small boats play Chopin and Bach as their craft drift silently across the mirror-still water — a genuinely surreal scene. After the concert, guests board rowboats to cross the lake. The whole experience runs approximately 75 minutes.
Good to know
Porto Cristo (home of the caves) is 65 km from Palma port — hire a private transfer (approx. EUR 120 return) rather than relying on public buses to control timing. First session opens at 10:00; book tickets online in advance as capacity is capped. Temperature inside is 21°C year-round — bring a light layer.
