Rise silently at first light above Mallorca's golden plain — ancient windmills, almond orchards, and the Tramuntana mountains glowing pink on the horizon — in a private or small-group hot air balloon, ending with cava and a traditional breakfast below.
What to expect
Pickup from Palma is pre-arranged; the launch site is in the Es Pla agricultural plain, roughly 30 minutes inland. Inflation takes 20 minutes — itself spectacular — then a 60–75 minute drift at the mercy of thermals, with the pilot narrating the landscape, spotting the Tramuntana, and occasionally descending to treetop height. Landing is followed by the traditional balloon-flight cava toast and a farmhouse spread of ensaïmades, cheese, and local charcuterie. Total time from pickup to return: approx. 4.5 hours.
Good to know
Flights depart at dawn (typically 07:00–07:30) and return to Palma by 12:00–12:30 — well within typical all-aboard windows. Flights are weather-dependent; the operator will contact you the evening before to confirm. Minimum age is usually 5 years; a moderate level of mobility is required to step into the basket. Book private flights at least 4–6 weeks in advance in peak season.
