Paddle your own path through the most spectacular sea cliffs in France — only a kayak gets you inside the narrowest calanques where boats cannot enter. A professional guide leads a small group through hidden grottos and onto secret pebble beaches.
What to expect
After a quick briefing on the Cassis waterfront, you launch into water so clear you can count the pebbles six metres down. The guide leads the group along the base of towering white cliffs, ducking into arched sea caves where the light turns electric blue. You beach the kayak on a private pebble shore inside a calanque and swim while the guide shares the park's ecology. The paddle back offers sweeping views of the Provence coastline as it stretches toward Cap Canaille, the highest sea cliff in France.
Good to know
Half-day tour (approx. 3–4 hours) is well-timed for a port day. No kayaking experience required — guides adapt the route. Wear water shoes; bring a dry bag for phone and valuables. Cassis is 30 min from Marseille port by road.
