What to expect

On clear days, the Aurlandsfjord stretches 45km to the horizon. The return journey often stops in historic Aurland village for a taste of local brunost (brown cheese) and a glimpse of the 12th-century church.
Good to know
The Stegastein road is seasonal — typically open June to October. Confirm road status before booking. The full excursion runs 2.5–3 hours, keeping well within a typical port day. Wear sturdy footwear and bring a windproof layer; the platform can be breezy even on warm days.
