Ascend 1,500 metres to the Dalsnibba Skywalk — a glass-edged viewing platform suspended over the Geirangerfjord. One of the most jaw-dropping vantage points in all of Scandinavia.
What to expect
The serpentine Nibbevegen mountain road spirals upward past snowfields even in July, delivering you to a glass-floored platform that juts out over the void. The Geirangerfjord shimmers impossibly far below, cruise ships reduced to white specks. Your guide points out Geiranger village, the Eagle Road hairpins, and on clear days, the peak of Snøhetta. The silence at the top — wind, eagles, and nothing else — is profoundly moving. Descend via the Eagle Road (Ørnevegen) for a second sweep of hairpin drama.
Good to know
Dalsnibba road is open late May–October; confirm snow clearance early in the season. The toll road (NOK 250) is payable at the gate — take cash or card. Allow 3–4 hrs round-trip from Geiranger quay. Book a private driver through local Geiranger taxi services in advance; spaces are limited.
