Glide through the ethereal limestone-karst mangroves of Kilim Geoforest Park — a UNESCO World Geopark — spotting brahminy kites, monitor lizards, and otters from a private boat. Watching eagles swoop for fish at arm's length is pure magic.
What to expect
Set off from Kilim Jetty by private boat into a labyrinth of mangrove channels flanked by soaring limestone cliffs. Your guide steers into Gua Kelawar (Bat Cave) — home to thousands of bats — then out to open waters to witness the electrifying brahminy kite eagle feeding ritual. A seafood lunch at a floating restaurant over the water is followed by a stop at the fish farm to hand-feed stingrays and grouper. The return leg skirts fossil-studded karst outcrops dating back 500 million years.
