Lace up crampons and walk on a living glacier inside Kenai Fjords National Park, tracing the ice's retreat through landscapes shaped over 10,000 years. Intimate, expert-led, and humbling in scale.
What to expect
A comfortable vehicle collects you in town and delivers you to the Kenai Fjords National Park visitor area. Your guide leads the group along marked trails past the vivid blue-green meltwater streams and up onto the glacier's accessible lower tongue, crampons gripping the ancient ice. Historic markers along the trail chronicle the glacier's dramatic recession, providing visceral context for the landscape around you. The return leg includes a stop at a viewpoint over the Harding Icefield.
