Lift off from Seward and soar over the Harding Icefield — one of the largest icefields in North America — before setting down on the glacier itself. Walking on ancient blue ice with the Alaska Range on every horizon is an experience with no earthly rival.
What to expect
The helicopter banks low over Exit Glacier's ablation zone before climbing to the icefield plateau at altitude. On the glacier landing, a guide leads you across crevasse-free terrain, explaining ice formations, meltwater channels, and millennia of compression visible in the ice layers. The aerial return tracks the coastline back to Seward, framing Resurrection Bay in the golden light. Flight manifests are tiny — this is as exclusive as Alaska wilderness gets.
