The polished, sun-soaked side of Ibiza in one half-day: a pine-fringed white-sand bay with turquoise water, restaurants, daybeds and DJs at one of Europe's most celebrated beach clubs. Reserve a sunbed or Balinese bed directly in advance, then settle in for the glamorous-but-laid-back scene the island is famous for. A low-stress, near-island safety-net alternate if the boat trips are sold out or the seas are rough.
What to expect
Arrive at Cala Bassa to a pine-sheltered white-sand crescent lapped by turquoise water—the polished, less-frenetic face of Ibiza. Claim your reserved sunbed or Balinese daybed, settle into the glamorous-but-relaxed rhythm: DJ sets, restaurant service, and the gentle geography of a celebrated European beach club unfold around you. The afternoon drifts between water, socialising, and food-and-drink service at your bed, with none of the logistical friction of organised boat excursions. You'll leave sun-saturated and grounded, having experienced the island's famous laid-back luxury without rushing.
Direct wins over the ship's beach-break transfer. Cruise 'Ibiza Beach Break' outings to Playa d'en Bossa are $45-60pp for what is essentially a paid round-trip transfer. Going direct to CBbC, you pay only for the bed/food you actually use and get a far nicer bay - but factor a ~25-30 min taxi from the cruise port (~$5-10pp to closer Playa d'en Bossa if you'd rather mirror the ship's beach for almost nothing).
Good to know
Book a sunbed or Balinese bed directly with Cala Bassa in advance (€25–€100+ depending on zone); beach entry itself is free. Allow 25–30 minutes for a taxi from the cruise port to Cala Bassa (~€5–€10 per person), or mirror the ship's standard Playa d'en Bossa option for nearly the same taxi cost. Within a 6–8 hour port window, depart the ship early to maximise daylight and beach time; factor 90 minutes minimum for return taxi and security re-boarding. Bring sunscreen, a card or cash for food and drinks, and confirm your bed reservation is locked before you leave the ship.
