Tracy Arm Fjord: Glaciers, Icebergs & Wildlife by Catamaran

Cruise 50 miles south into Tracy Arm Fjord, where twin tidewater glaciers calve icebergs into jade-green water and Steller sea lions haul out on floating ice. This is Southeast Alaska's most breathtaking glacial corridor — wild, remote, and utterly unforgettable.

What to expect

Depart the downtown dock and watch the landscape transform from spruce-clad islands to sheer granite walls rising 3,000 feet straight from the water. Binoculars come out for black bears on shore, harbor seals on icebergs, and bald eagles overhead. As the catamaran inches toward Sawyer Glacier, you'll hear the deep crack of calving ice before you see it. Hot drinks and snacks are served on board as you linger at the glacier face.

Good to know

Full day — typically 8–9 hours round trip. Dress in waterproof outer layers; the fjord is significantly colder than downtown Juneau. Confirm your all-aboard time with your ship and communicate it to the operator at booking — Tracy Arm departures have excellent on-time return records. Motion-sickness precautions recommended for the open-water crossing.
