Memphis Duck March & Peabody Hotel Grand Afternoon Experience

Witness the world-famous Peabody Ducks march the red carpet to the lobby fountain of Memphis's grande dame hotel — a beloved, utterly unique American ritual that has enchanted guests since 1933. Pair it with afternoon tea or cocktails in the grand lobby.

What to expect

At 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM daily, the Duckmaster leads five North American Mallards down a red carpet to the soaring marble lobby fountain, accompanied by John Philip Sousa's 'King Cotton March.' The ceremony is charming, theatrical, and surprisingly moving. The Peabody's lobby bar is one of the most elegant rooms in the American South — all marble, chandeliers, and Southern hospitality. A private Duckmaster experience allows your group to meet the ducks up close on the rooftop Duck Palace before the march.
