One of the oldest and most respected botanical gardens in the world, spread across 79 acres of immaculate horticultural artistry including a stunning Japanese strolling garden and a Victorian glasshouse. A living masterpiece and National Historic Landmark.
What to expect
Stroll the Seiwa-en Japanese Garden, one of the largest in North America, where stone lanterns and koi ponds create a meditative stillness. Step inside the Climatron — a stunning geodesic dome housing a lush tropical rainforest — where the air turns warm and exotic. Seasonal blooms transform the Rose Garden and Grand Basin into painterly spectacles. A knowledgeable docent weaves horticultural science with Henry Shaw's Victorian legacy throughout.
Good to know
About 15 minutes by rideshare from the riverfront. Request a private docent tour via the garden's group sales team well in advance. General admission tickets can also be purchased at the gate. Allow 2–3 hours minimum.
