Soak in Kos's famous volcanic hot springs where ancient thermal waters meet the open sea, then retreat to the pristine sands of Agios Stefanos Beach — framed by the ruins of two early Christian basilicas and a direct view of Nisyros volcano. Nature, history and sheer beauty in one half-day.
What to expect
Your private driver heads east along the coast to Therma Beach, where bubbling 40°C sulphurous springs seep from the cliffs directly into the sea — creating a natural hot tub against a backdrop of open Aegean. After a long, restorative soak, you continue west to the far end of the island and Agios Stefanos: a sweep of white sand and crystalline water, with the ruined columns of two 5th-century basilicas rising from the dunes. Across a short channel, the brooding cone of Nisyros volcano completes the view. A final coffee or chilled Mythos at the beach bar before the return.
Good to know
Therma is 12 km east of Kos Town; Agios Stefanos is 43 km southwest — a private driver is essential to combine both efficiently. Bring a change of clothes and a bag for wet swimwear. The thermal springs are extremely hot nearest the rock face — wade in gradually. The full circuit returns comfortably within 4–5 hours, well within most cruise call windows.
