Walk the wind-sculpted lava headland of Seopjikoji — canola-yellow in spring, silver-pampas in autumn — then stand at Asia's only waterfall that plunges directly into the ocean. Two iconic tableaux in one breathtaking half-day.
What to expect
Seopjikoji's 2 km coastal trail hugs jet-black lava cliffs above a turquoise sea, passing the white lighthouse made famous by a beloved Korean film. Wind-bent hawthorn and volcanic rock garden aesthetics make every frame effortlessly composed. At Jeongbang, the falls thunder off the basalt rim directly into the Pacific surf — a genuinely world-unique natural phenomenon. Your guide explains the island's volcanic story connecting both sites.
Good to know
Seopjikoji is 75 km from Jeju City port (~90 min); plan the Jeongbang stop (~50 km from port) on the return leg. Best visited in April–May (canola bloom) or September–October (silver grass). Wear walking shoes and a windproof layer on the headland. Allow 5–6 hours total for both sites plus transfer.
