What to expect
From Gamboa Pier, you and your private guide slip silently into the lake's emerald backwaters, gliding beneath strangler figs and past basking caimans. Emerald tree boas and Jesus Christ lizards appear with remarkable regularity. Post-paddle, a short trail ascends to the resort's steel canopy tower where the full sweep of Gatun Lake, the Chagres River mouth, and distant lock structures stretches to the horizon — an image that defines the canal.
