Spend your in-port hours on one of the Caribbean's genuinely best beaches: a powder-soft, gently shelving five-plus-mile arc of white sand and impossibly clear water, with no entry fee and easy access from George Town. Pair it with a stroll through Camana Bay, the island's polished waterfront town with its observation tower, boutiques and waterside dining. It's the effortless, luxe way to taste Grand Cayman without committing the whole day to a boat.
What to expect
A short 10-15 minute taxi ride from the George Town tender pier puts you on the sand. The water is calm, shallow and crystal-clear, ideal for easy swimming and floating. Public access points let you set up anywhere, or buy into a resort's loungers and beach bar for service. Camana Bay is a few minutes further north for lunch, the Observation Tower and shopping.
Cruise lines sell beach-break transfers and resort day-passes at a premium. Seven Mile Beach is free public access, so a taxi plus optional resort loungers is far cheaper and gives you full flexibility. There is no reason to buy a ship transfer for a beach this close and this open.
Good to know
George Town is a tender port, so watch the time and the tender queue closely on the way back. Grab a taxi at the well-organized pier rank and confirm the fare upfront. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and cash for loungers; this is the most flexible, lowest-stress option for a short call or as a relaxing afternoon after a morning excursion.
