Glide alongside oceanic manta rays in the nutrient-rich currents of Manta Point, then step ashore on Komodo Island for a ranger-led close encounter with the world's largest living lizard. Two once-in-a-lifetime moments in a single day.
What to expect
The speedboat races out to Manta Point in the Komodo Strait, where giant oceanic mantas — wingspans of up to 5 metres — wheel lazily through the blue. You slip in with a snorkel and hover above these impossibly graceful creatures for up to an hour. After a freshly prepared on-board lunch, the boat heads to Komodo Island for a medium trek with a licensed park ranger. Dragons are regularly spotted within minutes of entering the park — resting in the shade, patrolling the scrub, or gathering at the feeding ground. The return journey skirts the golden coastline as the afternoon light turns the water jade and turquoise.
Good to know
Manta sightings are near-guaranteed April–November; still likely but slightly less predictable December–March. Confirm manta season timing at booking. Snorkel gear is provided; bring your own fins if you prefer a perfect fit. Allow 8 hours total — confirm against your all-aboard.
