Walk barefoot on powder-soft quartz sand so fine it was once exported for hourglasses — framed by ancient pines and crystalline Baltic water. Dueodde is among Northern Europe's most spectacular beaches and a pure sensory escape.
What to expect
Dueodde stretches for kilometres along Bornholm's southern tip, backed by fragrant pine forest and rolling white dunes. The sand is legendarily fine — almost talcum-powder soft underfoot — and the shallow Baltic water is remarkably clear and warm in summer. A slender lighthouse stands at the point, climbable for panoramic views over the sea. The beach is rarely crowded even in peak season, lending it an almost private-island quality that feels incongruous with a Baltic cruise stop.
Good to know
Approximately 30–35 minutes by taxi from Rønne cruise port. Ask the driver to wait or arrange a collection time — local taxi services are reliable and accustomed to cruise guests. Bring a towel and sunscreen; facilities at the beach are minimal by design. Best in the morning when the light is golden and footfall is lowest.
