A professional astrophotographer escorts your private group of four to a curated vantage point, coaching you through every technical setting to capture the corona, Baily's beads, and the shadow-lit landscape.
What to expect
The session begins with a 30-minute technical briefing covering ISO, shutter speed, and solar filter removal timing in the final seconds before totality. Your guide scouts the location the morning of for wind and cloud conditions, sometimes relocating to optimise sightlines. During totality you work side by side with the photographer, capturing wide landscapes and close telephoto details of the solar corona. A post-eclipse editing session over lunch transforms your RAW files into finished prints.
Good to know
Participants should bring their own DSLR or mirrorless camera with a telephoto lens (200mm minimum recommended); solar filters are supplied. Groups are capped at 4 for personalised instruction. Book at least 6 months ahead for popular eclipse dates.
