Stand at the edge of 214-metre sea cliffs that plunge into the churning Atlantic, then cross the lunar limestone plateau of the Burren — two of Ireland's most jaw-dropping natural wonders in a single private day. Utterly bucket-list.
What to expect
Departing Galway dockside, you head south into County Clare, stopping at atmospheric Dunguaire Castle before entering the Burren's silver-grey karst landscape, where 70 million years of geology meet rare Arctic and Mediterranean wildflowers side by side. At the Cliffs of Moher you walk the protected coastal trail as far as your legs will carry you, with the guide narrating the geology and folklore of the cliffs. The Wild Atlantic Way coastal return offers headland after dramatic headland before you're delivered back to port in comfort.
Good to know
The Cliffs of Moher are approximately 90 minutes from Galway; plan for a minimum 7–8 hour day. Check all-aboard carefully — this is a tight run on shorter port calls. Pre-book Cliffs of Moher timed entry tickets at cliffsofmoher.ie to skip queues. Rain gear is non-negotiable; winds at the cliff edge can be fierce even in summer.
