Stand atop Low's Peak at 4,095 m — the highest point between the Himalayas and New Guinea. This UNESCO World Heritage ascent through cloud forest is the single greatest bucket-list achievement in all of Borneo.
What to expect
The climb winds through five distinct vegetation zones — from lush montane forest to surreal granite moonscape near the summit. Sunrise from Low's Peak at 4,095 m, with cloud seas rolling below and Borneo stretching to the horizon, is one of the most transcendent sights on Earth. Guides are expert naturalists who reveal the park's astonishing biodiversity — over 600 orchid species and the world's largest rafflesia — along the way. Note: this is a 2D1N adventure requiring an overnight at Laban Rata; best suited to guests with a two-day port call or an overnight stay pre/post-cruise.
Good to know
Book 6 months in advance — daily climber quotas sell out fast. Kinabalu Park is ~2 hours from Kota Kinabalu; private transfers recommended. All-aboard times must be confirmed with your cruise before booking. A fitness assessment is advised; the descent is harder than the ascent.
