Slide into the crystalline waters of Talbot Bay's Turtle Reef and drift alongside hawksbill and green turtles in a coral ecosystem so remote it remains virtually untouched — one of Australia's most rewarding snorkel experiences.
What to expect
Don mask, fins, and a stinger suit (provided) and drop into turquoise water above a thriving coral garden. Turtles are the star attraction — they surface, spin, and graze on seagrass with regal indifference to your presence. Your guide points out reef sharks patrolling the edges, bumphead parrotfish, and iridescent schools of tropical fish that part like a curtain as you glide through. Between snorkel sessions, dry off on deck and scan the sky for white-bellied sea eagles.
Good to know
Snorkelling equipment and stinger suits are provided by reputable operators. Water temperatures are warm year-round (26–30°C) during cruise season. Non-swimmers can observe from the boat. Confirm transfers from ship's tender — the reef is within the Talbot Bay anchorage.
