Step into the world's oldest living rainforest — older than the Amazon — on a private guided safari through UNESCO-listed Daintree. Spot cassowaries, tree kangaroos, and ancient cycads on a landscape 180 million years in the making.
What to expect
Your private 4WD departs the pier and winds north through cane fields into the ancient canopy. A licensed naturalist guides you along boardwalk trails, pointing out Boyd's forest dragons and iridescent Ulysses butterflies invisible to the untrained eye. A gourmet tropical-fruit picnic is served creekside. The afternoon is spent on a crocodile-spotting river cruise before returning along the scenic Coral Sea coast.
Good to know
Full-day runs 07:00–17:00; half-day 08:00–13:00. Private transfers from the pier are included. Book the private full-day option at least two weeks in advance during peak season (June–September). Closed-toe shoes recommended for rainforest walks.
