Tear down Central Europe's longest summer bobsled track carved into the forested hillside below Visegrád Castle, then hike the ancient rampart trail to the Citadel for a king's-eye view of the Danube. A rare blend of pure adrenaline and 700-year-old history.
What to expect
The 780-metre stainless-steel track plunges through pine forest, banking through curves with the Danube sparkling below — riders control their own speed, making it as thrilling or as gentle as you choose. After your runs, the signed trail to the Citadel takes approximately 30–45 minutes on foot through oak and beech woodland. At the top, the panorama over the Danube Bend — arguably the most photogenic view in Hungary — rewards every step. Descend at leisure and reward yourself at the Renaissance Restaurant at the castle's base.
Good to know
The bobsled track is a 10-minute walk from the Visegrad dock, and the castle trail begins directly above it. No pre-booking required for the bobsled; simply pay on-site. Wear trainers or light hiking shoes. The full bobsled-plus-hike loop takes approximately 2.5–3 hours, leaving ample time before all-aboard.
