Climb the floodlit ramparts of the 16th-century Kasbah of Agadir Oufella as the Atlantic catches fire below. Walk haunted lanes destroyed by the 1960 earthquake and hear the city's layered story — Berber, Portuguese, and Moroccan — from a licensed local historian.
What to expect
Your guide meets you at the Kasbah gate and leads you through the reconstructed medina interior, pausing at the Arabic inscription above the original gate — 'Fear God and honour the King.' The terrace unveils a 180° panorama: the Atlantic, the port, and 10 km of crescent beach. At dusk the ramparts glow amber and the city lights begin to pulse below. The descent winds through argan scrub alive with birdsong.
Good to know
The Kasbah is a 15-min taxi or private-car ride from the port (approx. MAD 30–50 each way). Sunset timing varies by season — check civil-twilight time vs your all-aboard. Wear flat, closed shoes; the cobblestones are uneven.
