Board a research-grade Zodiac in the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park and come within metres of beluga whales, minke whales, and fin whales in one of the world's most accessible whale-watching corridors.
What to expect
Geared up in a provided dry-suit float jacket, you launch from Tadoussac into the cold, nutrient-rich confluence of the Saguenay Fjord and the St. Lawrence. Your onboard naturalist reads the water for blow spouts and flukes, narrating the ecology of the endangered St. Lawrence belugas in real time. On a great day you may spot up to five species of cetacean, plus harbour seals and northern gannets dive-bombing the surface.
Good to know
Tadoussac is a tender or transit port on many Seaway itineraries — confirm your ship's schedule. The Zodiac experience is weather-dependent; book the earliest departure to maximise wildlife activity. Bring layered waterproof clothing even in summer — the fjord is cold.
