Wander one of Europe's most spectacular waterfront parks, designed by visionary Canarian artist and architect César Manrique — a sweeping, sculpture-dotted landscape of lagoons, sea pools, cascades, and lush gardens right on the Strait of Gibraltar. A world-class outdoor art installation and a sublime place to spend a sun-drenched afternoon.
What to expect
The Parque Marítimo stretches along Ceuta's southern waterfront in a series of interconnected saltwater lagoons, volcanic-rock sculptures, waterfalls, and tropical gardens that cascade towards the Strait. Manrique's signature philosophy — art in total harmony with nature — is everywhere, from the sweeping curved paths to the extraordinary sculptures rising from the pools. You can swim in the natural seawater pools while gazing out towards the Moroccan coastline, or simply meander through the gardens as local families and visitors do, entirely unhurried. At golden hour, the light on the water and the silhouette of the Rif Mountains across the Strait is simply extraordinary.
Good to know
The park is a 15–20 minute walk or short taxi from the cruise terminal. Opening hours are typically 10:00–20:00 (seasonal variation). Bring swimwear if you wish to use the seawater pools. Pairs perfectly as a leisurely finale after a morning of guided touring; easily manageable within a standard port call.
