Descend into one of Tennessee's most storied underground caverns — a cave with 10,000 years of human history, from Native American use to a 1940s big-band dance hall. An extraordinary private guided adventure beneath Clarksville.
What to expect
Dunbar Cave's main entrance opens into a vast, cathedral-like chamber that has awed visitors for millennia. Your Tennessee State Parks naturalist narrates the cave's layered history — from ancient Indigenous ceremonial use to the era when Roy Acuff and his Grand Ole Opry band performed concerts inside the cave's natural amphitheatre. Beyond the main cavern, a network of trails winds through the 110-acre surface park, offering birdwatching, wildflower spotting, and views of the spring-fed lake. The combination of geology, history, and biodiversity makes this one of the most intellectually rewarding experiences in all of Middle Tennessee.
