Land on Corossol Island — a designated Important Bird Area and one of the Gulf of St. Lawrence's most significant seabird sanctuaries — for an exclusive, expert-led encounter with puffins, razorbills, and storm petrels nesting at arm's reach.
What to expect
A private boat carries your small group across the glittering bay to Corossol Island, where over 10,000 seabirds nest on the rocky shore during summer months. Atlantic puffins waddle within metres of visitors; black guillemots bob in the kelp offshore; Leach's storm petrels nest in burrows underfoot. Your certified naturalist guide provides binoculars and expert commentary on each species, the island's ecology, and the conservation work protecting it. Landing is a privilege extended only to small parties — the silence, the bird calls, and the wild remoteness are deeply moving.
Good to know
Access to Corossol Island is strictly seasonal (June–August) and tightly controlled — pre-booking is absolutely essential and spaces are very limited. Bring warm, windproof layers regardless of weather, and wear soft-soled shoes to protect nesting habitat. Allow 3–4 hours for the full boat transfer and guided island visit.
