Discover Salalah's most spectacular stretch of coastline — a pristine white-sand beach flanked by dramatic limestone cliffs with natural blowholes that shoot seawater skyward — on a private 4WD excursion along one of Arabia's most photogenic shores.
What to expect
The coastal road west of Salalah is one of Oman's most breathtaking drives, hugging cliffs above turquoise water as coconut plantations give way to raw limestone headlands. At Mughsail, the beach is a sweep of near-white sand that would not look out of place in the Maldives. The blowholes — natural rock vents where the sea pressure sends jets of spray shooting 30 metres skyward — are a natural spectacle unique to this coast. Your guide knows exactly when the tide creates the best show and finds you private viewpoints away from the crowds.
Good to know
Round trip from port is approximately 2.5–3 hours' driving plus beach time; allow a half-day minimum. The blowholes are most dramatic at mid-to-high tide — ask your guide to time accordingly. Bring a towel; the beach is irresistible. Combine with the Frankincense Land for a full-day west-coast itinerary.
