Sail the volcanic caldera of Santorini on a private luxury catamaran — hot springs, a Red Beach swim, fresh seafood on deck, and the legendary Oia sunset from the water. Arguably the most beautiful evening in the Mediterranean.
What to expect
Your catamaran departs from Vlychada or Ammoudi Bay and heads south along the caldera rim, stopping first at the geothermal hot springs where warm volcanic water stains your skin a deep ochre. The captain then sails to the famous Red Beach — volcanic crimson cliffs plunging into blue-black water — for swimming and snorkelling. A proper Greek BBQ lunch is served on deck: souvlaki, fresh salads, grilled octopus, with local wine and spirits flowing freely. As afternoon softens into evening, the boat positions perfectly in the caldera for the sunset, the whitewashed villages of Oia catching the last gold light above you.
Good to know
Santorini's tender port (Athinios) or Old Port both have catamaran operators — confirm exact departure point when booking. The full experience runs 5–6 hours; verify your all-aboard time is at least 90 minutes after the scheduled return. Sunset tours are booked solid from June–September; reserve 4–6 weeks ahead. Bring a light layer — evenings on the water cool quickly even in summer.
