Glide over the jewel-bright shallows of Bangaram Atoll in a private glass-bottom boat while expert naturalists spot nesting hawksbill and green turtles in their natural habitat. One of the rarest wildlife encounters in the Indian Ocean.
What to expect
Your naturalist guide reads the tidal currents to position the boat directly over sleeping turtle meadows and vivid coral gardens without dropping anchor. The glass panels reveal a living mosaic of parrotfish, octopus, and leopard moray eels below the hull. When conditions allow, guests may slip quietly into the water to float alongside the turtles. The boat circles back through a shallow lagoon where rays glide in the golden afternoon light.
Good to know
Morning departures (8–10 am) deliver the best turtle activity and light for photography. Book directly via the resort's excursion desk on arrival or in advance by email. Tender schedules from the ship dictate the window — aim for an early tender to maximise time on the water.
