Plunge into the underwater world of Komodo National Park — rated among the top 10 dive destinations on Earth — where thundering currents sculpt spectacular coral gardens patrolled by reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, and pygmy seahorses.
What to expect
Komodo's dive sites sit at the convergence of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific, creating nutrient-rich upwellings that sustain extraordinary marine biodiversity — over 1,000 species of fish and 260 species of coral. Your dive master leads you through technicolour soft coral forests where white-tip reef sharks rest on the sandy floor, giant trevally hunt in packs, and schools of fusiliers cascade like living waterfalls. Sites like Batu Bolong and Crystal Rock regularly deliver encounters with manta rays, octopus, and the elusive pygmy seahorse. With small dive groups and meticulous safety briefings, this is world-class diving at its most thrilling.
Good to know
Minimum certification required: PADI Open Water. Komodo's currents can be strong — some sites are recommended for Advanced divers; confirm your experience level when booking. Equipment is provided, but bringing your own wetsuit is recommended (water can be 22–26°C). All dives are guided; no solo diving permitted. Factor surface intervals and boat travel time against your ship's all-aboard.
