Stand among ancient baobabs rising like giants from the red earth at golden hour, then enter a private reserve for an intimate encounter with Madagascar's legendary lemurs — two of Africa's most iconic wildlife moments in a single afternoon.
What to expect
Your private 4x4 departs Morondava port and rolls through dusty ochre tracks to the Avenue of the Baobabs, where 800-year-old Adansonia grandidieri trees glow tangerine in the dying sun. Your naturalist explains their sacred significance to local communities. At dusk you transfer to the Kirindy Forest Reserve for a guided walk where ring-tailed lemurs and the world's smallest primates, mouse lemurs, appear by torchlight. Madagascar's magic is utterly raw and real.
Good to know
Morondava is the departure port for this experience. The full excursion runs approximately 5–6 hours; confirm all-aboard before booking the afternoon departure. Mad Cameleon handles all reserve permits; carry lightweight long sleeves for the forest walk.
