Trek through one of the Arctic's most spectacular tundra landscapes — vivid wildflower meadows, rust-red basalt plateaus, and panoramic views over the ice-choked fjord far below. Pure wilderness, zero crowds.
What to expect
Your guide leads you up onto the tundra plateau above Ittoqqortoormiit, passing through 'Blomsterdalen' (Flower Valley), where Arctic cotton grass, purple saxifrage, and Arctic poppies carpet the ground in season. The geology here is ancient — basalt columns and sedimentary red rock formations that tell 350-million-year stories. At the plateau rim, the entire Scoresby Sund panorama opens: a 350 km expanse of fjord, sea ice, and mountains. Return via a different ridge for a fresh perspective on the landscape's enormous scale.
