Paddle a sea kayak through a labyrinth of drifting icebergs in the world's largest fjord system — an intimate, silent encounter with Arctic ice that no motorised vessel can replicate. Pure bucket-list adrenaline and awe combined.
What to expect
After a brief safety and paddle briefing on shore, you launch into water so clear you can see boulders ten metres below. Icebergs the size of apartment blocks drift silently around you, their underwater geometry refracted in shades of electric blue and jade. Your guide leads you through natural ice channels, pausing to explain how Arctic meltwater shapes these sculptures over centuries. The silence is broken only by the drip of your paddle and the occasional deep groan of shifting ice. Wildlife — ringed seals, Arctic terns, the odd humpback fluking in the distance — appears with remarkable frequency at this unhurried pace.
Good to know
Dry suits and all paddling equipment are provided; no prior kayaking experience is required. Weather and ice conditions determine launch — always have an alternative plan. Sun protection is essential as reflected light off ice and water is intense. Confirm availability with the operator prior to embarkation.
