Work shoulder-to-shoulder with a professional Arctic photographer to capture icebergs, tundra, and wildlife in Scoresby Sund's extraordinary light — the midnight sun and low-angle Arctic rays create conditions photographers travel a lifetime to find.
What to expect
The day begins before most passengers are awake — early Arctic light rakes horizontally across the fjord, turning every iceberg into a lantern of blue-white fire. Your photographer-guide leads the group to a pre-scouted shoreline position and coaches you through long-exposure techniques that capture the ghostly movement of mist over the water. A Zodiac session follows, bringing your lens within metres of a calving glacier face for images of extraordinary drama. Afternoon light on the tundra reveals a completely different palette — amber grasses, lichen-crusted boulders, and the silhouette of musk oxen against a pastel sky. An evening image review session rounds out the day.
Good to know
All camera types welcome — from mirrorless systems to smartphones — though a camera with manual settings will allow you to benefit most from the tuition. Waterproof camera bags or dry bags essential for Zodiac segments. Pre-book early as photography expedition groups are kept strictly small. Tripod and extra batteries strongly recommended in cold temperatures.
