Journey to the flanks of the continent's most heavily glaciated peak — 14,411-foot Mount Rainier — for a private guided hike through Paradise meadows ablaze with summer wildflowers, with glaciers looming overhead.
What to expect
Your AMGA-certified mountain guide meets you at Paradise Visitor Center (5,400 ft), where the panorama of glaciated ridgelines sets an immediate tone of grandeur. The hike ascends through subalpine meadows carpeted in lupine, paintbrush, and avalanche lilies to vistas of the Nisqually Glacier. Your guide interprets the volcanic geology, glacial history, and endemic wildlife — marmots whistle from every rocky outcrop. The air at elevation has a crystalline quality that scrubs the mind clean.
